The Half Marathon runs from Mirabeau Park in the Spokane Valley to Riverfront Park in downtown Spokane following the Spokane River Centennial Trail. The start is on East Pinecroft Way, between North Cherry Street and Mirabeau Parkway. The course follows Mirabeau Parkway east to the Centennial Trail entrance across from the Center Place complex.
The Centennial Trail is a scenic, paved asphalt path, 12 feet wide in most places that follows the Spokane River. The USATF-certified course is gently rolling with a net elevation drop of 105 feet. By its Charter, the Trail cannot be closed for any event so it is possible to encounter recreational users along the route. There are nine aid stations along the route, dispensing water, HEED and Hammer Gel.
Bus transportation is provided from Riverfront Park to the starting area. Parking is also available at the starting area with bus transportation back to the start provided through the day. |
